When Mummy says I am a rascal, I usually say “Not Rascal, Good Boy”. Today, I think she may be right though because I was a little bit naughty.
Today is President’s Day so Mummy and I had the day off, but Daddy had to go to work. Mummy needed to do some washing so she went out the back door to go to the washing machine. Before she went she turned the little knob on the door handle so the door wouldn’t lock behind her if I shut it ( as if, I would do such a thing). She thought I wouldn’t be able to reach up to the key that was in the deadlock. She was wrong. I managed to climb on the TV cabinet to get up to the key and turn it and lock her out! Imagine her surprise and my glee when she couldn’t get back in! I waited by the glass back door with my arms crossed and a big smile on my face! Mummy tried the door and the handle turned, but the door wouldn’t open. I bent over laughing and pointed up to the key and said “Key”! You should have seen the look on her face! Lola wasn’t happy either because she was stuck outside too! Mummy asked me to turn the key again to let her in - which I would have done eventually, but I thought I would take advantage of the situation for a little bit and have some Ipad play time. So I pushed a stool up to the kitchen counter - all while Mummy watched from the kitchen window - and got the Ipad. I then went to sit back by the door so that Mummy could see that I was perfectly safe and happy playing with my Ipad - I didn’t want her to worry. Unfortunately, Mummy had her phone with her so she called our friend and neighbour Mark who raced round from his house a few blocks away to let Mummy and Lola in. As soon as she came in, Mummy didn’t need to say anything, I knew I had to go to the naughty step so I went straight there and waited my time out. Mummy had to go into the other room to have a giggle - she doesn’t think I know that, but I do. I don’t like the Naughty Step because I do try to be a good boy. But I’ll tell you a secret - this time, it was totally worth it!
