Mummy was invited by the Oracle Team to go and watch one of the America's Cup races. She didn't want to go so Daddy, Uncle Teeny and Daf went instead and they had a great time! They were taken out on a posh private boat to watch the race And they got to see the HUGE boats up close They also went to the team headquarters to see the boats lifted out of the water and saw how they make their 'wings'. Go team Lowe/Brennan!

I went to a great park today called Six Flags in Vallejo with Mummy, Aunty Sian, Nana, Hannah and Milly. Daddy, Uncle Teeny and Daf were supposed to meet us there later but were having so much fun at the America's Cup that they didn't make it. They have a Superman ride there ( which I wasn't allowed to go on) and a statue of Superman - who is my hero. I was very glad to have my cape with me and I think some people in the park may have though I was the real Superman. They have great rides there. I liked the teacups. And the airplanes! No adults were allowed on this one so this was the first ride that I ever rode by myself! It took me a couple of goes to realize that i controlled it to go up and down. As control is my favourite thing, I had a hard time leaving this ride.... But I am glad I did because then I got to ride an elephant! Who knew that the elephant I was riding was Milly all along!! This park also has some animals. I loved watching the dolphins! They seemed to be having so much fun I loved them so much that I went to find Nana to come and see them too. There was so much to see and do, it's no wonder I was so tired at the end of the day! Even Superman needs a nap now and again. I have never been to Maui before. It is famous for it's beautiful beaches, and I can see why! The beach near our apartment ( or 'Tom's new house' as I called it) was lovely. The sand was so soft. And it had a man to set up umbrellas and beds so we were super comfy. Uncle Teeny taught me how to make sand sculptures. We also visited some other beautiful beaches Daddy and Uncle Teeny seemed particularly keen on the nudist beach. Don't know why, I am naked all the time and beaches are fun whether you have your clothes on or not. Mummy wasn't so keen - maybe because there weren't beds there? The ocean was also lovely to swim in. It seemed warmer in Maui than the big island - although there also seemed more sharks in it. That didn't stop me though! I especially loved bobbing around in the rough surf. And I LOVED going out in the big canoe! We also had great fun in the evenings. Sometimes we had a BBQ and ate on our lanai. But I especially liked getting dressed up to go out to eat. Then we would all take off along the path in our resort to one of the fantastic restaurants. It was such a treat to dine literally on the beach I even liked the food! And I especially liked the company. We watched some lovely sunsets Always with sunglasses on, of course Then we would go home for a quick game of dominos or lotto And then I read everyone a story before bed. Mummy says that people in heaven can go to any place on earth where people are thinking about them. If that's the case, then Tada was definitely in Maui with us because we talked about him all the time. On our last night we used coral to write his name really big so he could see it from heaven. Then we threw our leis into the ocean to make sure that we get to come back to Hawaii again. Aloha until next time. There was an unprecedented number of shark attacks when we were in Maui - on the same stretch of coast that we were staying on. Tragically, one lady lost her life. That didn't stop my crazy Dad and Uncle and Daf going to try and find one! They were very happy that they succeeded. Mummy was very happy that it wasn't a huge one - big enough though! Thank fully, everyone came back safe and sound. (well, may be not sound). There was a brilliant pool right next to our apartment - just for kids! Little ones like me (and my friend George who I played with all holiday) and big ones life Daf. I loved counting to 3 and then having Daf throw me into the air and coming down with a big splash! Sometimes he threw me so high, my pants came off! We often had the pool to ourselves Which was perfect for quiet cuddle time with Milly Cuddle time doesn't last for long though when that naughty monkey Daf is on the prowl! This evening we went to a great party called a Luau! We were all given flower necklaces called Leis when we arrived. And the girls got flowers in their hair. I wasn't so keen on wearing my Lei, but I made it work for me by accessorizing with Buzz. I liked watching the dancers. So much so that once the stage was empty I thought I would give it a go myself! I was told that I had to get off for the next act but that I would have my chance for stardom later. So when they called for kids to come up on stage, I raced up front to entertain the masses. Imagine my shock and horror when a whole bunch of other kids got up there too and started dancing! I was very confused. Daf, on the other hand, didn't seem to have any trouble getting into the swing of things - literally. Then we ate dinner - which for some reason they dug out of the ground. I always get yelled at if I try to eat something that has fallen on the floor. Now they want me to eat something they dug out of a hole. I am so confused. No wonder I was tired at the end of the evening. One of my favourite books is The Cat in The Hat. I can recite it from memory. So imagine how happy i was when Mummy got tickets to go and see the real Cat in The Hat at our local theatre! I went with Mummy and Nana and we had great seats in the front row. They stayed very faithful to the book and I loved it! The Cat was very funny. He was a little scary looking though so I didn't want to have my picture taken with him - so Mummy took a picture of him with a random boy instead. |
