Fun weekend in Tahoe with Nick and Gerry. We went zip lining and on hikes and generally just hung out.

It was Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim this weekend. It started on Thursday and I wasn’t allowed to miss school so Cathy went with mum instead. Mum had to be on stage for one panel infront of all those people and she said she wasn’t nervous ( until she got a phone call from my teacher wondering where I was as I hadn’t turned up at the ferry building for our school trip. - to cut a long story short, Dad took me to the wrong ferry building!).
She had dinner with Emperor Palpetine in the evening - as you do. Uncle Seamus took us on a cool walk this afternoon in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace. Even though I am not a huge fan of long walks, I found this one quite interesting. It was one of King Henry VIII’s palaces which he took from a Cardinal after he chopped his head off. He had 6 wives and chopped some of their heads off too. Not a nice man.
We are studying World War 2 in school so Mum thought it would be a good idea to visit the Imperial War museum while we are in London. I was not keen but it turned out to be really cool and I learned a lot. Sam and Cate came too. They had an enigma machine there which was a coding device that the British managed to crack during the war so they could decode German secret messages ( though they were not very nice to the man who figured it out and pretty much won the war for everyone just because he was gay). They also had some mock ups of living rooms from the time and bomb shelters. And showed how kids had to go to school with gas masks and some kids had to be sent to the country away from their families to be safe.
We are all devastated because my lovely Uncle John has suddenly been taken from us. He is my Dads younger brother and was playing walking football and had a massive heart attack. He was airlifted to hospital and had been in a coma but there was no hope of him waking up so we had to say goodbye. Today was his funeral. It was so sad. He would have loved to have been there with all his family. Cousins came over from Ireland and all his brothers were there and Uncle John would have been in his element laughing along with all the stories. My Aunty Jen is heartbroken and we will all make sure we are there to surround her with love.
