Happy Easter! The Easter Bunny arrived in style at our house. He knows that I don't like candy so he set a great treasure hunt for me instead. First I had to find the eggs then follow the clues inside the eggs to presents for me, Lola, Leia and Zane! I was so excited that I didn't even have time to put my shirt on!
It is time to celebrate all things Star Wars! We went to the Episode 9 panel and got to see the amazing first trailer for the film. The response in the crowd was deafening and the energy was fantastic. We also got to see the stars back stage. Then we went to the show floor where we saw all sorts of models and people dressed up My favorite things were the Vader Immortal VR experience and the Lego mini figures. In the evening we explored Chicago at night and found this great dark maze experience out on the pier - it was brilliant fun.
The next day we went to the Chicago Cubs and got to watch the game from the owners box and meet the mascot - who was all dressed up like a Jedi. They even gave me a game used ball! Then afterwards we went on a river cruise to see all the amazing architecture. Then the next day Mummy went to work and we went to the aquarium and natural history museum - and an unscheduled trip to the hospital to get Aiden's mummy stitched up after a fall :-( We also had fun in the lovely hotel - with TVs in the bath and a great spa and pool. It was a very fun trip but I missed my Dad so I will be very happy to get home to him and my furry brother and sisters. It is Spring Break and mummy has work to do in Chicago - so instead of flying we decided to make an adventure of it and take the train to Chicago! Aiden loves trains so he and his Mummy decided to come too!
We had two adjoining cabins with bunk beds and bathrooms ( well a shower over a toilet). There was a dining car and a viewing car. It was cool to eat and play while watching this huge vast and varied country whiz by. We crossed mountains, rivers, plains and deserts. We saw an American Eagle in its nest and we crossed the Mississippi River while playing Battleships. I got a bit sick the first night and decorated my bunk bed, but after that I was fine. After 2 nights and 3 days we were all VERY happy to see Chicago though! I think even Mummy won't mind flying home! |
