It's Nick and Gerry's birthday! We have been friends since Kindergarten and have always celebrated their birthdays with pizza at Picco's. It was such a fun evening - lots of laughs all around.

We have put our Tahoe house on the market so this may be our last skiing trip. There is nothing quite like spring skiing, especially if you go with a good buddy.
It has been over a year since we lost our lovely Lola and we all miss here every day. She was such a special soul and we are so lucky that we were her family. Annie has brought a lot of joy into our lives and Leia and Zane continue to bring joy too - but there will always be a Lola shaped hole. So we decided to honor her on her birthday by going to her favorite place - Rodeo Beach. We went there the day before she died and she was so happy. Annie seemed to be channeling her running around like crazy with a massive smile on her face. We will always love you Lolabear.
Mum really didn't think she would make the Oscars this year or that she would want to go but Nana really loved hearing her stories of these events and she really wanted her to live life to the fullest. Cathy also lost her Mom this year so in honor or the two wonderful, strong and spirited ladies who raised them Mum and Cathy got all spruced up and walked the red carpet. Their favorite part of the night was Ryan Gosling singing I'm Just Ken and Ariana Grande trying to fit her gigantic dress into her seat and covering the people sitting either side of her in tulle!
 Today was the day we had all been dreading - Nana's funeral. It was incredibly hard and sad following Nana's coffin into church. We all tried our best to support Mum, Aunty Sian and Uncle Ga while also feeling so sad ourselves. The service was beautiful though. The hymn singing was breathtaking - How Great Thou Art and Love Divine. And Hannah played Ashkans Farewell on the violin which was Nan's favorite piece. Luke read the Eulogy on behalf of the family and did it so well. I think we could all feel her presence and how proud she would have been of her family. We all like to think that she and Tada were together looking down from above and we know that they will always be a part of us.
