One of the nice things about living in California is that we are not only near the beach but we are near the mountains too! My good buddies Nick and Gerry's Mom won a weekend at a ski chalet in the school auction and they asked me to come with them. I have never been on skis before so I was excited and a bit nervous to try it.
The video on the left is my first ever try on skis and I got the hang of it pretty quickly during my lesson. It was all going so well until Daddy decided to take me up the mountain on a blue run and I quickly found myself off piste which was not as fun! Next day I had my lesson again and my teacher took me up the mountain. It was very snowy and blustery but I still worked hard and now I know how to stop - which I think will come in very useful considering I tend to like to do everything fast. As much fun as skiing was, the best fun was being in the nice warm chalet listening to music and playing with my friends. On the last day it had snowed so much that we had to dig to find our cars! That was pretty fun too. I think I may learn to love skiing! I love visiting my family in the UK but I miss my furry brother and sisters so much so I will be happy to get home to them and show them all my new toys ( which Mummy had to buy a new bag to accommodate)
We were very cultured today. We went to the Tate Modern with Cate and Milly ( who was in a wheelchair, the poor thing as she broke her leg) and Uncle Mark & Sheilagh and Uncle John. I particularly like the big computers you can draw on and the big painting on the floor that you could lie on and break dance on.
Then we had a lovely walk along the Southbank to look at the views. Daddy wanted an even better view so he wanted to go on the swings at the top of the really tall tower. Uncle John drew the short straw and had to go on it with him. Watching it from the bottom made Mummy and I dizzy enough. Then we had a lovely last night dinner with Uncle Mick, Aunty Deb and Ellie. Till next time, London! Back to London. Back to the Corinthia. Back to TV in the bath. Back to my Uncles.
Today is the day that we have to leave Common Hay - which makes me sad. But we had time for one last bit of fun playing with the remote control helicopter that The Rowes gave me. It was all going fine until Uncle Teeny put it in the tree.
Now that I love lasagne, Nana thought it would be a good idea for me to learn how to make the best kind - hers! So we made Lasagne together and it was YUMMY!
Today was a very interesting day. We went to the beautiful small town of Laugharne near Tenby which is where Dylan Thomas lived and wrote some of his most famous books. I can see why he was inspired to write in such a beautiful place. We went to his boathouse where he did most of his writing, then we visited the castle and also went to a lovely cosy cafe. Mummy also bought me his book - A Childs Christmas in Wales. I think I may write the sequel one day.
It was a little bit of a slow start to 2019 as I was so tired from staying up so late. We did eventually get up and fit a walk in at Wisemans Bridge before it went dark!
