We were supposed to go to Tahoe this weekend to celebrate Aunty Joy’s birthday ( Happy Birthday Aunty Joy!) but we couldn’t go because Daddy needed to work. So Mummy and I went on a play date to Point Isabel with Lola and 8 of Lola’s brothers and sisters. It was chaos! Lola had a fantastic time - as you would be able to see in the video above if Mummy knew how to use the video camera a bit better!

I had a busy day today! This morning I had an appointment at the Post Office to apply for my passport. I will be able to get both an American and a British passport and I have applied for my American one first as it will be quicker. My Dad had to hold me up for the photograph and my Mum laughed because I look a little grizzly. Then this afternoon I had to go and have my first round of injections. I did not enjoy that at all! I pouted my lip and let out a scream when the nurse stuck the needle in but it was all better soon once Mum picked me up. I soon fell asleep again as you can see in the photo above. I hope I don’t have to do that again! I have learned a few things to help me let my Mum and Dad know what I want. I stick my tongue out when I am hungry, or I suck on my hand. And when I am tired I rub my eyes.
They seem to be catching on! I am two months old today and look how I have grown! We celebrated by going to see Dr Sexton for my 2 month check and injections. Luckily for me they had run out of medication so I didn’t get the shots - yay! But I have to go back again on Wednesday and get them - boo!
I weighed in at 10lbs exactly and 20.5 inches long. My Mummy and Daddy say that when I am asleep I neigh like a horse - so they have started calling me Mr Ed!
Each day is a new adventure and I learn something new. I started smiling - sort of - at about 7 weeks old. Mummy says I half smile. I light up my eyes but I can only manage one side of my mouth at a time at the moment.
It’s pretty tricky trying to get control of my body but I am getting better at it. I could hold my head up when I was only days old. I can now get my hand in my mouth almost all the time - though sometimes I still whack myself in the face and cry because I wonder who hit me. I have also started holding on to things like my bottle when I am being fed and I enjoy giving my stroller toys a good bash. Lola is my big furry sister and I love her very much. Mummy and Daddy got Lola about a year and a half before I arrived - in fact they found out I was on the way on Lola’s 1st birthday - and they think that she really helped them be ready and relaxed enough for me to come along. They call her their Furry Angel Lola is really gentle with me and she is always at my Mum or Dad’s feet when I am being fed or changed. Now and again she comes up and sniffs my head or feet to say hello and if I cry, she comes running to make sure I am ok. We like to play on my play mat together - she lies at the edge and watches me kick around. I like to stare at her too. I know we are going to have great fun growing up together. It was 78 degrees and sunny today so we went to the beach. It is very unusual to be this warm in January and I am a little concerned about global warming - but I enjoyed my walk on the beach ( even though I slept through most of it!). Lola had a lovely time jumping in and out of the sea and running away from the waves. |
